I just feel like I don't know-I know how you feel.

Today while skyping with my best friend Mairyah, I realized just how much having a best friend means to me. Without her, I don’t know where I would be today. She has been here through thick and thin, no matter what the situation I know I can count on her to listen to me complain, cry or just yell and carry on. Our friendship has been a roller coaster ride to say the least but I know at the end of the day that she will be the girl who will be in the back of the police car with me saying “Shit our Daddy’s are gonna kill us!” Even though I don’t get to see her everyday I know that no matter what time of day/night it is she is just a phone call away. We constantly remind each other that everything is going to be okay and sometime’s that’s all a girl needs. Thank you for  being the bestest best friend on the planet Mairyah, I love you :)

We have had some good times and we have had some tough.

But you have always been there, even when times got rough.

Some friends come and go and some always remain

no matter if we stay the same or change.

A true friend will always be there no matter what the case.

And you have always done that

no matter what I’ve faced.

Please always knows that whatever comes your way

I will be there for you until my dying day.

Illinois Beef Expo 2011

This last weekend was one of my favorite weekend’s of the year-The Illinois Beef Expo. Each year my family gets to pack up and spend the weekend in Springfield, IL. This year we took five steers to show-shorthorn plus, hereford, maine, chi and a crossbred. The show went really well for all of us! My brother Ivan was Grand Champion Hereford Steer and had Reserve Shorthorn Plus Steer. My sister had two tough classes and finished with a seventh and a fifth. The Steer I showed ended up second in his class as well. A lot of our friends placed well when showing to-its always fun to see how your county fair friends place!

This weekend was a great weekend for socializing and catching up with everyone as well. A lot of memories were made and even more inside jokes which I know will continue through the summer! This weekend I realized a lot about myself, my friends and my family. As a family we have realized to not let the way a show worked out get to us-yes, we would have wanted the Shorthorn Plus show to go a different way but it didn’t and we learned to accept that and move on and say “we will get em next time.” As a person I have realized to be nice to people who make me angry because killing them with kindness is the only way to go!

Now that this weekend is over-I can not wait to see what the rest of the show season brings :) Congratulations to everyone on a great weekend!
